Erie Claims Gianluca Fuoco Off Waivers from Saginaw

Erie, Pennsylvania – Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the team has claimed forward Gianluca Fuoco off waivers from the Saginaw Spirit and is expected to join the team immediately.

Fuoco, a 6’1”, 185-pound forward, spent the 2016-17 season with the Saginaw Spirit, tallying two goals and 23 penalty minutes in 53 games played. The 18-year-old, Etobicoke, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Spirit in the tenth round of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

The Erie Otters open the 2017-18 regular season on the road when the visit the Peterborough Petes Thursday, September 21st at 7:05pm as part of OHL Opening Week. They’ll open their home schedule Saturday, September 30th when the Otters host the Kitchener Rangers at the Erie Insurance Arena at 7pm, featuring the raising of the 2017 OHL Championship Banner.
