Otters Find Scoring in 7-4 Win in Windsor

Matt Mead

WINDSOR, ON – The Erie Otters headed to Windsor Thursday night where they took on the Spitfires for the second time this season. After an unsuccessful early powerplay for Erie, Windsor found the back of the net with a goal from Cole Purboo.  Maxim Golod answered just a few moments later for the Otters to even the scoring, but Luke Boka fired right back for Windsor to bring them ahead once again heading into the intermission

Kyle Maksimovich opened second period scoring only a minute and a half into the frame to even the game at two. Danial Singer followed this up with two goals, just 15 seconds apart, to put the Otters ahead 4-2. Windsor continued to fight with a quick goal from Lev Starikov to cut the lead to one. Minutes later, Tyler Angle evened the game up with a goal on 4-on-3 powerplay that sent the teams into the dressing rooms even at four.

In the third, Elias Cohen found the back of the net for the first time of his OHL career to put Erie back ahead 5-4. With under two to play, Max Golod scored for the second time and Kyle Maksimovich delivered an empty net tally for a 7-4 win in Windsor.

The Otters will be back in action tomorrow night in Sarnia where they will take on the Sting at 7:05PM.
