Otters lose tight game in Sudbury, 2-1

Sudbury, Ont. - The Erie Otters displayed a solid defensive effort against the Sudbury Wolves, but goals were few and far between in a 2-1 loss for the Otters Sunday afternoon.

 

After a scoreless first period, Connor McDavid put the Otters on the board with another highlight reel goal. McDavid took a great pass from Connor Brown in stride and went wide with a backhanded shot that went over the glove of Taylor Dupuis for his 17th goal of the season at 5:13.

 

Dominik Kubalik tied the game at one for the Wolves with a one-timer goal from Michael Kantor at the 12:38 mark of the second period.

 

Dominik Kahun scored the game winner for the Wolves 3:19 into the third period with a power play goal from the right circle.

 

Shots were 32-30 in favor of Sudbury for the game, as Oscar Dansk made 30 saves for the Otters in the loss.

The Otters return home for a pair of games starting Friday night against the Ottawa 67’s.
