Round 1 - 10th Overall
Carey is a skilled player with elite feet and edge work. He uses his skating as an asset in all three zones. Carey plays with pace, making quick and precise decisions. On the offensive side of the puck, he uses his speed to beat defenders wide, his vision to distribute to open teammates, and is fearless in taking pucks to the net. Carey is challenging to play against on both sides of the puck as he is fast on the forecheck, closes gaps quickly, and takes away opponents’ time and space in a hurry. Welcome to the Otters organization Carey.
Round 2 - 21st Overall
Taeo is a skilled forward with solid feet and a second gear that he uses to his advantage. He plays in all situations, averaged 2.18 points per game last season, and is a leader amongst his team. Taeo demonstrates a strong work ethic in all three zones. He handles the puck well at his top speed, driving the net with and without the puck, and can find open teammates with crisp passes. An ultra competitor, Taeo sacrifices his body blocking shots, gets his stick into passing/shooting lanes, and forechecks quickly. He is one of the hardest-working players in the draft. Welcome to the Otters organization Taeo.
Round 3 - 54th Overall
Nathan is a very athletic individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic. A right-shot defenseman that plays a physical brand of hockey, making things hard on opponents in the corners, along the walls, and in front of the net. Nathan uses his stick effectively to angle opponents, taking away time and space, and backs it up with his body. In addition, Nathan produces an excellent first pass, making it easy for his forwards to transition to offense.
Round 4 - 70th Overall
George is a complete right-shot defenceman who demonstrates a strong work ethic both on and off the ice. George takes care of his defensive zone and likes to contribute offensively as well. Managing the puck effectively, joining the rush, and supporting his forwards in the offensive zone was a strength that stood out to us. In addition, George displays a ton of confidence, is super competitive and a natural leader, captaining his team for the last five years. Welcome to the Otters organization George.
Round 6 - 103rd Overall
Braxton is a 200ft player that competes all over the ice and plays in every situation. His consistency stood out to our staff, and he possesses a hockey IQ which is evident with his positioning and awareness with and without the puck. Braxton drives hard through checks making his way to the net. In addition, he demonstrates poise and creativity with the puck, finding open teammates with high percentage passes. Braxton’s strong work ethic and ability to contribute in all three zones is something our organization covets. Welcome to the Otters organization Braxton.
Round 7 - 128th Overall
Chase is a big, strong, power winger who skates well. He was very productive while playing against older players last season. Chase loves to have the puck on his stick and displays good vision with the puck. He has the potential to develop into a skilled power forward in the OHL. Welcome to the Otters’ organization, Chase.
Round 7 - 129th Overall
Ryan is a complete defenseman with a high IQ, great natural instincts, and can contribute on both sides of the puck. He was the top point producer in the ETA amongst defenceman and was a plus 29. He ran the PP and PK during his time in Ajax. Ryan looks after the defensive zone effectively, keeping opponents to the outside, and demonstrates a strong stick and solid gap control. In addition, Ryan reflects an ability to make plays quickly and consistently. He does everything really well and plays with a ton of confidence. Welcome to the Otters organization Ryan.
Round 8 - 143rd Overall
JJ demonstrates a strong work ethic, and opponents are always aware of when he is on the ice. He is hard to play against, is tough as nails, and plays with pace. His energy and high-end speed are very intriguing to us. In addition, JJ demonstrates an ability to find open ice, capitalize on his opportunity, and contribute offensively. Welcome to the Otters organization JJ.
Round 8 - 150th Overall
Dylan possesses high-end skills and is one of the hardest-working players in the draft. He is a tricky player for opponents to face since he threatens to put points on the board and keeps his engine running high throughout the entire game. In addition, he is an elusive skater and is very shifty. Welcome to the Otters organization Dylan.
Round 9 - 169th Overall
Seamus is a physical, two-way defenceman that demonstrates high athleticism and competes. He holds opponents accountable, battling hard in corners, along the walls, and in front of the net. There is no free parking in the defensive zone when Seamus is on the ice. In addition, he makes a crisp first pass and gets pucks out of the defensive zone while under pressure. Seamus is not afraid to chip in offensively but does not sacrifice one area to succeed in another. Welcome to the Otters organization Seamus.
Round 11 - 209th Overall
We are very excited to welcome Aiden to the Otters organization. We believe Aiden is just scratching the surface of his potential & look forward to watching his game further grow & develop. Aiden is a big, powerful goaltender, who possesses a strong combination of size, & skill. Hopewell tracks the puck well & prides himself on being efficient & effective in the crease while making timely saves for his team. Welcome to Erie!
Round 12 - 230th Overall
Andrew is one of the more intelligent players in the draft, possessing great hands and skill. He demonstrates an ability to make plays under pressure and sees the ice well. It is not a surprise to our organization that Andrew was a point per game player. He is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer but can finish when the opportunity presents itself. Andrew plays with detail in his game, and we feel he is developed beyond his years. Welcome to the Otters organization Andrew.
Round 13 - 249th Overall
Teegan is a big-bodied defenceman who holds opponents accountable. His physical style was not on display this year while playing no contact, but his ability to angle opponents, lean on them along the walls, and box out in front of the net was noticeable to our staff. Teegan is mobile, and his strong edge work helps him transition from defense to offense and vice versa. He is a high-character player and demonstrates a strong desire to develop his game further. Welcome to the Otters organization Teegan.
Round 13 - 252nd Overall
Jack is one of the better skating defencemen in the draft. He is a puck mover who contributes offensively while still demonstrating a shutdown game, which speaks to his plus 20 on the season. Jack is a fierce competitor who wears his heart on his sleeve when playing the game. He enjoys the physical side of things and thrives when the going gets tough. Jack is a difficult player for opponents to play against with the various attributes he brings to the table daily. Welcome to the Otters organization Jack.
Round 14 - 270th Overall
We are very excited to welcome Braeden to the Otters organization. Braeden is a goaltender who possesses an elite competitive nature. His feistiness in the crease is something that catches your attention immediately as a scout. Braeden’s size & mobility strongly contribute to his success in the crease. He is powerful both while on his feet & while down & sliding. Braeden’s versatility allows him to successfully make structured, positional saves, while also showing an ability to be break away from structure & use his athleticism to do whatever it takes to keep the puck out of the net. Welcome to Erie!
