DeBrincat Commits to Otters

Erie, Pennsylvania – The Erie Otters Hockey Club is pleased to announce that free agent forward Alex DeBrincat has committed to the team and has signed an Ontario Hockey League agreement.

            DeBrincat, a 5’ 7”, 160 pound, forward from Farmington Hills, Michigan spent last year at Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois. As a member of the Lake Forest Academy Ice Hockey Team the 16-year-old scored 54 goals and registered 111 points in 50 games played.

            “We are very excited to welcome Alex DeBrincat to the Erie Otters organization,” General Manager and Governor Sherwood Bassin said Monday. “Alex is a dynamic offensive talent that we feel will make a big impact on our future and help this team accomplish its ultimate goal. The coaching staff, hockey operations staff and I are especially pleased Alex chose the Erie Otters and the Ontario Hockey League to further his professional hockey development.”

            DeBrincat joins an already deep young core in Erie including other 1997 birth years Connor McDavid and Dylan Strome.
